I've never really been 1 for U2's arena-anthems. Bonio's boomy chest-beating and The Hedge's guitar tone is all too cloying, gloopy and reminiscent of Simple Minds and Big Country crowd-bouncers for me..

But how would they sound with a girl guest vocalist facing front - perhaps....

    Sorry that Yazoo mash is horrible. I love Don't Go, and I quite like U2. But the mix of those two...there were so many funk-rock bands fronted by some wailing woman on the London scene back in the early 90s, slap bass and guitars like those, big squealing solos, leather trousers. I lost count of the time I was on the same bill as them....that mash sounds just like those...

    The Whitney works better, the melody sitting over that piano line is really nice actually...

    The Yaz/U2 is my fave out of the bunch, but Whitney's a corker too - have this as a Sweetner Simon..

    The Yaz mash was set opener for a Mark Vidler 30 minute radio-session, which went straight into Jet Lady Joe, you can just hear the opening slam of JLJ the end of Y/U2

    That's pretty cool. I liked hearing those. U2 is alright. They aren't my favorite band. I've never understood the hoopla. Plus Bono gets on my nerves. They've had some songs that I enjoyed, but I don't own any of their albums and I doubt I ever would.
