New Tunes That Help You Breeze More Easily*

What's that you say - have I got something new, fresh and fruity - but with all the ready-to-wear familiarity of a long forgotten favourite?

Made from melodies - as soulful and sweet as a spring meadow, with a splash of backbeat and breaks full of funk and thump - and perhaps some hot Hammond on top?

And you'd like it drizzled with silky strings, punchy trumpets and driven by a tempo that gallops like a gazelle and twirls like a Northern Soul dervish?

Well, in that case Myron and E's Cold Game may be the very thing you're after...

Myron and E - Cold Game

Cold Game is brought to you by Helsinki's Timmion Records

* Note To Continental Viewers - this title is a painful pun on a seventies advertising tag for 'Tunes' Lozenges

* Note To Domestic Viewers - did you know Tunes are
made by Mars, and a medicinal cousin of those most glam rocking of boiled sweets - 'Spangles'?

Hey Dave. That's great. I really dig it a lot. I think it's definitely catchy. I like it. Thanks for sharing that with us. Cheers!

Thanks for sneaking me an advance last week PM; I have been, as I believe the expression goes, 'kicking it' ever since.

Thanks Keith it is a peach isn't it?

Davy it's 'bear' good as I've heard some young'uns say - and a label from Finland surprisingly. Those scanda-pops get everywhere...

I've been listening to it fairly constantly.

It's strange, it reminds me of a lot things; it's obviously sounding like some rare nugget from days gone by; the Hammond solo makes me think of Weller in the Style Council days. But there's also something about it that reminds me of De La Soul, and that whole retro psychedelic daisy age stuff. It's damn good anyhow!

Great, great tune. Timmion have some ace stuff, notably the wonderful Nicole Willis - now when is she going to put out something new?

Meanwhile:

Go here immediately. Milton Wright (who did The Gallop and it's vocal version I Belong To You - classic northern) and his album Spaced. Fantastic 70s funk. Brilliant stuff.

That's it Simon it's like so many other things - and I really love the analogue and rough edges feel about about it..Oh, that Milton Album's good. Take A Break is right up my funky side of the street, it's like Bill Wither goes Disco..

I hadn't heard of Timmion before this Cocktails - I'll be sure to check out Nicole Willis

Nicole Willis: Wow, I think I like her better. Mrs Jimi Tenor apparently...

How could I forget that haircut - and to order the album - whoops I'm on it now. I did get the Decca Underground box after your tip off though, and it is a treat..

And glad you liked Nicole Willis too Simon - the album is fab and highly recommended.

Lovely tune Mondo. Nothing like a bit of perfect sixties tinged pop to brighten up an evening.
