Sparky Twinkles and Glitter Blitz

It's not just dusty nuggets and vintage retromania round here you know. No, no sometimes hot, hip and happening new tunes make their way onto the Mondo Music Centre too.

Tunes like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs who've sidestepped their usual raw-amped rocking for some delish electro disco on their new album It's Blitz

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Hysteric

And Royksopp's Junior bubbling with the richest of synthesized riffs and twinkly Scanda-pop melodies from start to fin.

Royksopp - Vision One

If electro bleeps and beats are on your wavelength - turn on, tune in and squeak out.

  4. For a brief second I thought that was a picture of a young Chrissie Hynde...

  5. Keith if you grab a copy, grab the deluxe Edition of It's Blitz, it comes with magical acoustic versions of 4 album tracks.

ISTV - like Chrissie Hynde with a Dee Dee Ramone haircut which did you know was inspired (Dee Dee, not Karen O ) by Dave Hill - yes him from Slade)

  6. Never heard of “Royksopp” before and wasn’t that familiar with YYY’s either – I really like them both…
(Especially like “Happy Up Here” & fab video too)

But as it happens, this was even better! Always a big fan of the YYY's (a regular feature at the Blow UP Metro once upon a time). this sounds great.

I'm very tempted with a Glitterati post P, espesh after playing the H.League and Undertones versions of Rock and Roll in the last week.

You've got to get the YYY's Blitz it's a killer, and on a permanent loop in our house over the weekend

  9. I love the Yeah's dear Mondo! I got the chance to see them live at the Coachella festival about 3 years ago maybe? They were on right after Sleater-Kinney and right before Tool. It was an insane show. I was lucky enough to be near the stage otherwise I would've been smashed to pieces by all the crazy boys. Thank you for sharing your music... I hadn't seen either of these before.
