ReplyDeleteScan them if you can ISB, I'd love to see ol' Teabag again. Did he have glasses? We were also shown a black and white drama with a french actor (playing a villain with fantastic wraparound shades) who was always on UK TV in the seventies playing a generic Frenchman
Babel's great isn't it? I know enough to ask for a beer and that's about it! All I was saying is that in our school we had the Bertillon family but, in our books (handed down from year to year), all the males were defaced with giant knobs. That's kids for you.
ReplyDeleteWe had the Bertillons too! Dad was a customs officer I think, eldest daughter = Marie Claude. A story I remember was called 'Perdu Dans La Salle Des Pas Perdus' (Lost In Lost Property) - the kids went to see Dad at Orly Airport: disaster ensued! How we laughed! Those crazy frogs! (etc).

ReplyDeleteThe Bertillons? Think we just had The Thibaults Davy. I must track down that French actor and the mystery film used at school. I'm sure he makes an appearance in this film somewhere
Know exactly what you mean about The Herbs P, do you remember this French kids classic shown or Picture Box or somesuch.. (new soundtrack in this clip though)
That's probably my all-time best film. Le Ballon Rouge. They used to show it at school near the end of summer term, on cine in the hall, an old whirring projector and all.

How about this piece of obscure nuttery only 3 people I know remember it. But stumbled across it while digging about for the mystery Frenchmen Cosmic Zoom is the official title. I haven't seen it for about 35 years until tonight.

@John M - you trust these web sites! I once translated something into Russian for a mate and he laughed his arse off saying it was completely wrong!
