Pop Quiz: Clue Are You?

You know him! You do - well his name anyway. But who is he?
A couple of pointers for you...

He's a non-music biz contributor to pop culture.

Born in Brighton, died in 1987.

And a hint expressed through the medium of Lee Perry

  1. *puts hand up* I know sir.

It would have been confusing if youd posted the only Bleechers track on my Ipod, Ram You Hard.

  2. It must be the pic Simon - I'm guessing it wasn't the clues?

Delightful title. One to roll over 'til Valentine's Day perhaps?

  4. Couple of clues then F-Ron. His work was at it's most popular but still cultish in the late 60s/early 70s. Revived in the late 70s, and would say it's mainted peak saturation and awareness since the mid 90s.

He had a mention in a post last month.

  5. Additionally, I love doing things through the medium of Lee Perry. I may work today in the style of Lee Perry. Anybody in Holborn watch out for fires!!

  6. No idea. But then I am famously useless at cryptic quizzes so don't mind me.

  7. Did he invent the toaster? Lee Scratch Perry used to wear one on his head, so I'm pretty confident.

(WV: tostru! I can't fail on this one.)

  8. Our Holborn building had a mini-blaze about 18 months ago. I casually lumped my way out thinking it was some dopey ol' fire drill, only to step out into tumbling embers and a scene from Casualty..

Luckily I had my wallet in my back pocket, but train ticket, Oyster and MP3 were still at the desk - ho hum!

I've been loving this Lee Perry lately...(spot the Groove Armada ref)

I was tempted to post something by this lot OP, but though it may make things to obvious..PS 'nother clue in the post tags..

  9. No, not Morphy Richards ISB - but continuing on with the fire motif which is nothing to do with Mr Mystery.. another clue..

All the pieces are in place now, surely?

  10. Like a homegrown Herb Alpert. Last, Hatch, Kaempfert et al were the link between our parents' record collections and ours ; when we could listen to them ironically and call it Loungecore!

  11. To paraphrase Eric and Ernie

'You're playing all the the right clues , but not necessarily in the right order; I'll give you that, Sunshine'

  12. oh it's like taking candy from a a baby.... not a musician, but a big influence on music culture eh? Clothing perhaps? Big in the 60's and 70's, still up there today? Bit of a mod connection perhaps eh?!! haha! Simple! It's Fred Perry isn't it..... the Lee "Perry" clue was just too much!

    ;-)
