Followed by a 'hair of the dog' down at the Rovers

corrie (not Jackie Mittoo)

There's some uptown uptempo Jackie Mittoo here

I didn't think you liked Telstar?! Ace version though of a great song!

Indeed. Reggae "Telstar"? I think I'm in love.

Lovely start to the week. Although I made the mistake of pressing 'play' on the Corrie version (which I haven't heard in a little while. So now I've that going around and around in my head...

Totally agree with the above. If that version of Telstar doesn't put a smile on your face nothing will.

This magic re-work really hits the spot doesn't it, and as cocktails rightly points out - I can't stand 'Telstar' usually, but I could listen to this take all day - I've just uploaded Jackie's 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes' which is worth lending an ear to.

I don't know who it is doing the Coronation Street theme though - any ideas anyone?

Izzy Royal is the Corrie tune. There was a dub version on the b-side. I had the single....one of my mates has some of my old 7"s. I'll see if that was one. Otherwise it went the way of oxfam in the great vinyl clearing a few years back...

Thanks for that link Simon I'll be filling my boots with 'The horse' , 'The Camel' and 'The Mule' then tracking down that Izzy tune

RE I'll be on the razz double time this weekend, what with having Friday off so to speak while you're taking care of business this Funky Friday

Izzy Royal - Coronation Street
Izzy Royal - Coronation Street Dub

There you go mate; I'd not heard the dub version for many a year; it's actually better than the A side.
