Our town of sunny Southend is twinned with Sopot, a very dandy riviera affair, offering several accommodation options 'hotels, motels and campings' and a sprinkling of swinging 'Disco Clubs' for leg shakings, including the temptingly named 'Galaxy', 'Viva' and 'Derby' (eh?)

nice one. Barnsley is twinned with Schwamich gmund an east german mining town so you can imagine what great place it was!
I've just checked it on Google and Flickr. It looks quite fancy and fairytale - but perhaps I've only seen the best bits. But what's the point of twinning, apart from exchange students - are there any other benefits?
windows down listening to these lovely summer toons n dreaming of Sopot... ah!
If I can find on of those crazy cheap flights, I could be tempted with a spin out to Sopot.
