An album that features Stevie Wonder, one of Toto and Pele - has there ever been a more random guest list!
So rolling along with the theme of summer sounds - how about a sequence of intercontinental hops to faraway funky hotspots
Antonio Adolfo - Transamazonica
Sergio Mendes & and the New Brasil '77 - Mozambique
Quantic Soul Orchestra - Panama City
Or if you missed my global a go-go funk mix from last year 'Mondo Internationale' - try a two minute taste test below...
And download here
Grabbed a 7" of this little gem for 50p at the recent Leigh Folk Festival.Bargain.

Love that Transamazonica track. You just can't go wrong with a bit of bird sound. It's almost like its inspired by Martin Denny - which is ironic really.
And that Humphries Singers song is ANNOYINGLY catchy.
Such a cool way to start off the weekend. Thanks for sharing these with us. Have a funky weekend. Cheers!
It was a toss up between several Latino lovelies, but this kept getting repeat played in my head - so in it goes.
And yes the LHS tune is infectious, it will forever remind of riding my pushbike back from the folk festival on the wrong end of too much wine and cider..
Glad they're rocking your boots Keith..
Can't say I'm too sad I missed out on the Humphries single! I thumbed over that one pretty quickly at the phoke phestival. He looks like a 70s Northern club barman. There is some brilliantly out of tune man-clapping in the video if you watch carefully though.
There's a few random clappers - perhaps it's flash mob. I'm liking the tie-outside the-suit-look too. I may give it a swish around the EC3 area.
Hmmm, that's given me the buzz to hear yet MORE summer related toons... anything more coming you can help us out with?? ;-)

I love Sergio Mendes! Thank you so much Mondo... have a great weekend. :)
P - Some summer sounds rising this Friday
You too Gabbi - If you're a Serge fan, you'll love the 77 album Stevie Wonder's on it and everything!
