Funky Friday - All Girl Action

You've probably seen these pistol packing mamas cracking skulls, flipping kicks or lassoing the truth out of some rat-grey gump. But, did you know these three killer queens also had a secret musical identity..

Caroline Munro (pictured above) Bond Girl, scream queen and B movie pinup - can also be spotted in this Manikin cigars ad' and duetting with Gary Numan on Pump Me Up - I say!!

Caroline Munro - This Sporting Life

After our 'school's out' bell had rung, I'd hoof home, like a wide-eyed loon hoping to catch any glimpse of ITV'sTara King era Avengers repeats*sighs*

Linda Thorson - Here I Am

I almost went for the Wonder Woman theme, but it had to be Diana Prince Linda Carter giving The (Detroit) Spinners - Rubberband Man a bounce.

And there's a great, great thread on the TV crushes on The Word website here if you fancy putting your hormones into hijinx.

Great post mate!!

Met Caroline Munro couple of years back and she was SOOO very nice. Really lovely lady. Didn't know about this tho, interesting.

Think Lynda Carter was a singer before she got famous with the miss world thang. Went to see her in the musical Chicago, 2 or 3 years ago, and her voice was really good. AND she signed a WW pic for me. Top gal!! Had a big crush on LC in my youth, and still really like her now... she's still very beautiful too.

Incredible yet more winners from the Piley Autographenia collection!

It's that bit from The Spy Who Loved Me isn't Simon, and then there's Sinbad too

Oh I forgot Valerie Leon too - but don't think she's made any tunes though

Great post! For some reason, I love discovering music recorded by celebs I only associated with acting.

On Retrospace I've had great fun posting tracks by Goldie Hawn, Telly Savalas, Sissy Spacek, Jodie Foster, Marcia Strassman (Mrs. Kotter), etc.

Hadn't heard of the Caroline Munro tune, but am well familiar with the awesome Tara King track. Great fun!

Great shares dear Mondo! My fave is Caroline Munro's 'This Sporting Life'!! It has a sort of Elvis thing going there doesn't it? And I also really like LInda's video... I love the Muppets! :)

Wishing you a wonderful weekend... I love getting new music!

I've got a Goldie Hawn tune Gilligan (must blog it one day), but Sissy Spacek, Jodie Foster I'll have to check those out - thanks for the tip off.

You're right Gabbi I'd never thought of it - but bang on

PM, Sinbad too yes, but don't forget Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter, possibly the last great Hammer movie and written by the great Brian Clemens, he of The Avengers, and shot through with that same sensibility...brilliant stuff.

Wonderwoman... oh the memories... :-)

Can't see those pics Piley - gives an error message?

I watched Captain Kronos a few months back Simon - although I'm more of an Amicus chap usually (Tales from The Crypt, Vault of Terror)

As The Beatles song goes F-Ron "it's all too much"

Sorry to be so late with this but here’s a mildly interesting and slightly related story. In the late 70s/early 80s I was driving out of Longleat when I saw Susan George dancing and miming to a song. Apparently she had made a record and directing the video was none other than Mike ‘cue the music’ Mansfield. I happened to have a cine camera with me at the time (remember them) and filmed about 30 seconds of Susan cavorting, silent of course. I still have this film but nothing to play it on and I’ve never got round to transferring my old films to video/DVD. When I do I promise to post it.

Susan George - she was everywhere in the 70s but can't remember anything she appeared in apart from Straw Dogs

And yes Mick that is spectacular and has to be blogged!

I saw Sally Thomsett on a visit to Abbey Road a few years back. She was residential rather than doing the Abbey Road crossing walk.

Ah, Sally Thomsett. Her line “He’s got big ears anyway” from on old advert became a bit of a catchphrase in our house in the 70s.
