All Vinyl Fridays - Soul Together
For one month only - the usual end o' week warm up will be brought to you through the medium of black plastic. Friday's will still be funky - just circular shaped until April.
Our first transmission is another mark-down bargain from the Battlesbridge record man - Soul Together, a companion album to this. Lend your lugs to these three snappy soul-swingers, an unrelenting mini-blitz that can be found on side 1.
Otis Redding - Love Man
Aretha Franklin - Eleanor Rigby
Sam and Dave - Ooh, Ooh, Ooh
If mod sounds and styles are up your Carnaby St, you really must get your button downs, brouges and braces along to the New Faces exhibition showing at The Book Club 100, Leonard Street, EC2A 4RH. I went along to the opening last night - it is literally wall to wall winners all the way.

This LP is an old friend I lost touch with; it languished in the record library of Hospital Radio Nine, Tooting but shared a happy summer or so with me and made many guest appearances on my sensational Friday Night Soul Show (c). Years later I was still searching for the Percy I heard here first.
I love the purple and orange Atlantic label design (I feel a tee shirt coming on). But that version of "Eleanor Rigby" is just plain wrong.
Wonderful way to begin Friday morning!
Glad I stopped by today...
Being based in tooting were you not tempted with calling it ‘Soul power to the people’ - have you got tapes of the Friday Night Soul Show ©? You must blog them – and was this the tune you had on a wibbly-wobbly cassette.
I’m all for ‘Retha’s screech up Artog and that Rhodes piano. Fab. The colours remind me of Swizzles Lollies ( the inspiration behind the colour scheme on this blog)..
Thanks Lil – don’t forget to check future Friday’s for more vinyl goodies (well until April anyway)
blimey they're going to blow away the cobwebs. do lungs come mightier than on that lot ?

I could be wrong, but I reckon turntable sales must rocket on a Friday! Have a great weekend (I managed to corner Macca Jr last night!)
Them tapes is in a secure locale and nothing on earth would persuade me to put them on the internets.
And side 2 is just as fruity Ally - keep 'em peeled for a copy.
Just checked your Mini-Macca bit John. No Fabs reworks on the setlist then?
Get them up afore some other bugger does Davy - you don't want 'Davygate' blazing across the blogs
Don't know that album mate. Cheers for the heads up.
Might try and fit the New Faces exhibition in tomorrow, we're going up to the 50 years of Carnaby Street exhibition. Gonna check out the Elvis exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery and the Billy Childish one at the ICA too.
Treat yourself Col - you can find it on the 'bay easily enough.
I fancy that Carnaby do Coops - when does it run 'til?
great tracks Mondo. I liked the "Eleanor Rigby" one as it goes, although when it started i thought it was going to be incidental music from Charlie Brown!!
